Novelty and patentability assessment

In novelty and patentability analyses, novelty or both novelty and inventive step of your invention is assessed based on database searches conducted by our experts.

In order for an invention to be patentable, an invention must be new, involve an inventive step (i.e., be non-obvious in view of prior solutions), and be industrially applicable. Because of this, it is beneficial to assess the novelty or even novelty and inventiveness of the invention prior to drafting and filing a patent application.

If you believe that you might have a novel and unique invention, it is recommended that you contact one of our experts as early as possible so that the novelty of your invention may be assessed. Based on your input, our experts will perform a patentability assessment and analyze the findings in view of novelty. The results of the novelty search enable further product development actions to be directed in a more meaningful and cost-effective manner. Optionally, the analysis may be expanded to cover also evaluation of inventiveness of the invention.
